KUALA LUMPUR: Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie continued their good run by advancing to the mixed doubles quarter-finals of the India Open in New Delhi on Thursday.
The World No 13 defeated India’s Shivam Sharma-Poorvisha S Ram 21-10, 21-16.
The Malaysians were semi-finallists at the Malaysia Masters and Indonesia Masters.
They will play either China’s He Jiting-Du Yue or Thailand’s Nipitphon Phuangphuapet-Jongkolphan Kititharakul for a spot in the semi-finals on Friday.
Compatriots Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing, however, were ousted in the second round.
They lost 16-21, 21-15, 23-21 to India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Ashwini Ponnappa in 69 minutes.
In the men’s singles, independent shuttler Liew Daren exited after losing 19-21, 21-17, 6-21 to Taiwan’s Chou Tien Chen in the second round.
