KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's men's doubles Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun and women's doubles Anna Cheong-Teo Mei Xing are just a match away from clinching their first international titles this season.
Both pairs reached the final of the Syed Modi International in Lucknow yesterday.
Wei Chong-Kai Wun, who are seeded eighth, upset fourth seeds M.R.Arjun-Dhruv Kapila of India 21-16, 21-12 in the semi-finals.They will take on India's sixth seeds, Krishna Prasad Garaga-Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala in the final today.
In the women's doubles last four, Anna-Mei Xing defeated Haritha Manazhiyil Harinarayanan 21-18, 21-7 to set up a date with seventh seeds Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand Pulella in the final. The Indian pair ousted Malaysia's Low Yee Yuan-Valeree Siow 17-21, 21-8, 21-16 in the semi-finals.
