Aaron-Wooi Yik get their revenge, advance to Indonesia Masters quarter-finals

KUALA LUMPUR: World champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik turned the tables on Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang in the second round of the Indonesia Masters today.

Aaron-Wooi Yik handled the big points well to score a straight-games 22-20, 21-13 win over the China duo at Istora Senayan. The match lasted 37 minutes.

The national No. 1 pair were denied their maiden "open" title after losing in three-sets to Wei Keng-Wang Chang in the India Open final on Sunday.

Aaron-Wooi Yik won the opening set in New Delhi and had also led in the deciding game but would go on to lose 21-14, 19-21,18-21.

Their win over Wei Keng-Wang Chang sees them improving their head-to-head record to 1 win and 3 losses.

Aaron said the duo took a more cautious approach for the Indonesia Masters.

"We played with more patience and we used our experience better this time to beat them," said Aaron after the match.

Aaron-Wooi Yik will face another China pair — He Ji Ting-Zhou Hao Dong — in the quarter-finals tomorrow.
