Zii Jia falls to Asian Games champion

KUALA LUMPUR: Fatigue seemed to have taken its toll on Lee Zii Jia as he crashed out in the second round of the French Open in Rennes today.

The world No. 11, competing in his fourth straight tournament, squandered a 7-3 advantage in the rubber game before going down fighting 17-21, 21-11, 21-12 to China's reigning Asian Games gold medallist Li Shi Feng at Glaz Arena.

It was nevertheless a fruitful trip for Zii Jia who managed to return to winning ways with a victory at the Arctic Open in Finland and finishing runner-up at the Denmark Open last week.

In the women's doubles, Vivian Hoo-Lim Chiew Sien were no match for Indonesia's Apriyani Rahayu-Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, losing 21-8, 21-18.
