KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia's hopes of concluding the season on a high were dashed when he was eliminated by Japan's Kenta Nishimoto in the China Masters quarter-finals today.
The world No. 11 suffered a lopsided 21-11, 21-12 loss in just 40 minutes to Nishimoto at the Shenzhen Bay Gymnasium.
This defeat marked Zii Jia's third loss in seven matches against the world No. 13 Japanese.
With the exit of Zii Jia, there is no more Malaysian representation in the China Masters.
