KUALA LUMPUR: Men's doubles Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri are getting closer to winning their first World Tour title this year after marching into the semi-finals of the Orleans Masters in France.
The world No. 40 Malaysian pair beat China's Huang Di-Liu Yi 21-9, 21-18 in the quarter-finals yesterday, and will meet Denmark's Andreas Sondergaard-Jesper Toft for a place in the final.
If the fourth seeded Hon Jian-Haikal beat the seventh seeded Danes,
they expected to meet Indonesia's Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani or Taiwan's Chen Zhi Ray-Lin Yu Chieh in the final.
After pairing up last August, Hon Jian-Haikal had won two World Tour titles — Syed Modi International and Guwahati Masters — in three final appearances.
