Police to record statements from Kedah players

ALOR STAR: The police will record statements from six Kedah footballers and coach Nidzam Adzha Yusoff after they were accused by a fan on Facebook of throwing the Malaysia Cup final match on Nov 4.

Nidzam Adzha’s lawyer , Datuk Iszam Kamal Ismail said those named in the accusation by Facebook user Muhammad Ridzwan, will meet the police to give their statements.

“All players will be called to give their statements on Saturday (tomorrow).”

Iszam said police have contacted the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to obtain information on the owner of the Facebook account, including his location.

On Nov 9, Nidzam Adzha filed a police report following the accusation by the Facebook user that he and the players took bribes to fix the match.

Iszam has given Muhammad Ridzwan 14 days to turn up at any police station to give his statement.
