Beto won't blame anyone for his exclusion

KUALA LUMPUR: Perak midfielder Khairil Anuar Zamri has admitted he is disappointed at being dropped from the Malaysian football team for the Asian Under-23 championship in China next month.

However, Khairil, known as ‘Beto’ to his teammates. does not blame anyone, including coach Ong Kim Swee for his exclusion.

Beto philosophically said it is fated that he can’t play a part for Malaysia.

“Of course I feel disappointed because twice I have been dropped from a major tournament.

“I don’t really know what is the reason for not getting selected or is it really I am not good enough,” said Beto who was also dropped from the Sea Games squad in August.

Apart from Beto, two other players, Raphi Azizan Mariappen of PJ Rangers and K. Thivandaran of Penang were also dropped from the final 23-player squad yesterday,

Coach Kim Swee announced his final squad after the Malaysian team played three friendly matches in South Korea, recording two draws and one win.
