Kedah fans eagerly await Spanish striker

ALOR STAR: Kedah coach Ramon Marcote has urged fans to be patient as they await the arrival of a Spanish striker.

According to Marcote, the striker concerned was under him when he was coaching a team in Spain.

Kedah, who welcomed Filipino Alvaro Silva last Thursday, are also looking to fill the midfield gap left by Zac Anderson.

“We are expecting the two players, Silva and the Spanish striker to play in the next friendly match,” he said.

The Kedah Super League team tested local youth players in a friendly match against the state’s President’s Cup team at Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium, in Alor Star, yesterday.

Despite the absences of imports Liridon Krasniqi and Sandro Da Silva, Kedah won 4-1.

Kedah’s next pre-season match will be in Surabaya next week. They will also participate in a three-team challenge involving Sabah FA, DPMN Brunei and Kedah FA in Kota Kinabalu and Tawau from Jan 19-21.
