KUALA LUMPUR: The incoming new chief executive for Kedah FC, who is yet to be announced, will walk into financial issues.
Kedah announced the resignation of their CEO Khamal Idris Ali yesterday ahead of the 2024-2025 M-League season.
Former footballer Khamal led the Red Eagles for four years.
"Kedah Darulaman FC board of directors announce that Khamal has resigned as the CEO to focus on his business after four years with the club," Kedah said in a statement on social media.
"(Khamal) stepping down was also a measure taken to open opportunities to those who are qualified and capable."
It has been reported that Kedah still owe their players four months salaries from last season.
Last October, Kedah owner Tan Sri Dr Daud Bakar admitted that the club is suffering from financial issues.
