Former Kuantan FA players want the club to settle their wages

KUALA LUMPUR: Six former Kuantan FA players have claimed that they have not received their wages for the 2017 season from the Premier League side.

This is despite the FA of Malaysia (FAM) having ordered Kuantan FA to pay a total of RM145,250 in arrears to the six on January 15.

In fact, the club appears to be 'untouchable' as they have not been barred from playing in the ongoing season.

Fiqri Mohd Abdullah, who is one of the six players yet to receive his salary, hopes the matter will be solved soon.

"We have yet to receive our wages from the club. I have brought this matter to the Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) and they have taken this case to FAM,” said Fiqri.

"It is strange that this problematic club are still playing in the Premier League. Football Malaysia LLP (FMLLP) should have not allowed them to play this season.

"When teams break rules, it is the players who suffer. Some of my teammates have quit football and have taken up jobs.

“A player who has financial issues is now helping his family sell nasi lemak.”

Based on reports, Kuantan FA have had six cases brought to FIFA and 21 to FAM.

Kuantan FA are now under a new management and are using the name Marcerra Kuantan FA.
