FAM are investigating Melaka United and Sarawak for match-fixing

KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) have confirmed that they are investigating allegations of match-fixing involving Melaka United and Sarawak.

FAM integrity committee chairman Tan Sri Dr Aseh Che Mat stressed that the national body views match-fixing seriously and will not compromise when dealing with such issues.

"We have not received any reports from either team but we are aware of the situation. Subsequently, the committee has been asked to investigate the matter in depth through a number of sources we have," said Aseh, when contacted today.

"There are a lot of aspects which need to be studied as this is a serious issue. It is still too early to say whether it is the local or import players who were involved."

Melaka conceded three goals within 36 minutes in the 4-1 defeat to Selangor in a recent Super League match while Felcra netted late goals in the 3-2 win over Sarawak in Saturday’s Premier League game.
