BRAZILIAN Alfonso de la Cruz’s days with Selangor could be numbered as the defensive midfielder has been a failure so far in the Super League.
On Saturday, Cruz’s played for only 33 minutes before he was substituted by coach P. Maniam in the 3-1 defeat to Pahang in Cheras. It was Selangor’s second defeat in the top-tier competition.
“I made the decision to replace Cruz as he could not initiate our attack. His replacement, Ilham Udin Armaiyn (of Indonesia) did better although we did not win the match.
“I do not want to comment at this stage whether we will replace any of our foreign players during the mid-season transfer window as it will affect the team’s momentum,” said Maniam on Saturday.
Francis Doe scored a brace while Patrick Cruz netted the other for Pahang while Selangor replied through Rufino Segovia.
