Pallares determined to shoot down Elephants

ALOR SETAR: Kedah’s Spanish forward, Pablo Pallares is eager to do well and cement his reputation as a lethal finisher as The Red Eagles take on Pahang in an FA Cup third round match at the Darul Makmur Stadium tomorrow night (Saturday).

In fact the satisfaction of scoring a brace last Saturday against city side Kuala Lumpur has fired Pallares up to find the net against the Elephants even though they will be playing away from home.

"The two goals I scored in the last match has motivated me to give it my very best in the next match against Pahang this Saturday.”

"We will be going all out for victory in Kuantan to advance in the FA Cup competition, and we are ready to take on Pahang as we have been doing our best in training to prepare for this match,” said Pallares.

Kedah’s visit to Kuantan will be Pallares’ first competitive match in the FA Cup competition as he missed the team’s earlier match against Negri Sembilan on March 2, which is why he is hoping to have his scoring boots on.

Pallares admits that the match will be a stern test for The Red Eagles squad because Pahang will be out to make up for the disappointment of losing to them in last season’s FA Cup final.

"I expect a tough, closely contested match as we take to the pitch as defending champions against the runners-up, though I am confident that we will be able to play well and we will fight to the very end for the desired result,” he added.

Pallares has scored three goals so far and will be looking to add to his tally after opening his goalscoring account with a strike against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and the double against Kuala Lumpur during last Saturday’s Super League match.
