Kuantan FA go missing

KUALA LUMPUR: What has happened to Kuantan FA and where are they?

This is the question that has risen after the Premier League match involving Kuantan FA against Police at the Shah Alam Stadium had to be cancelled when the visitors failed to turn up for the match.

Therefore, Police have been awarded the win with three points over Kuantan FA as only the hosts were present at the cavernous stadium for the match that was scheduled to take place at 9pm just now.

According to the report filed by the match commissioner, the match could not proceed because visitors Kuantan FA were nowhere to be seen at the venue up to 9pm when the match was supposed to begin.

Hence, confirmation was made by the match referee on the center circle of the field at 9pm sharp to award a 3-0 win to the home side.

Kuantan FA’S failure to turn up for the match has raised questions about the troubled side, as before this coach Ismail Zakaria chose to remain with the team and not pull out after the team’s management managed to get a sponsor from the east coast on board.

Last week, Ismail had confirmed that he wanted to disband the team following the management’s failure to settle salary arears of up to three months which resulted in 10 players calling it quits and leaving the team altogether.

However, Kuantan FA seemed to have had a lifeline after Ismail came forth to state that the team had engaged a new sponsor that would help the team to start paying salaries beginning with this month.

Now though, has Kuantan FA pulled out of competition in the league because they have failed to get the sponsor on board as professed earlier?
