SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan Football Association (NSFC) has assured that the problem of salary arrears will not happen again next season, said its president, Tunku Syed Razman Tunku Syed Idrus Al-Qadri.
He said following that, the association will improve its financial management so that the team's salary payments can be better managed.
"This financial problem occurred because of the lack of funds obtained this year, additional team and so on. Besides, it is also due to the debt arrears carried over to this year.
"The problem (salary payment) at the beginning of the year was not significant but in the following months, it reached a critical level, we do not want it to happen again, I have also informed NSFC advisor who is also the Menteri Besar (Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun) on the matter," he told reporters.
He said this after presiding over the 89th NSFC Annual Congress at the Youth and Sports Complex, Paroi here today (November 30) which was attended by the association's leadership and 19 affiliated members.
In the meantime, Tunku Syed Razman said the problem was also discussed with the leadership of the state and had received approval to raise funds so that the NSFC team could continue to compete at national level.
Regarding the plan for next season, Tunku Razman who is also NSFC chairman, said there are several moves being considered including the services of coaches and players.
"I will announce in the near future as the Super League is still running until next month, we are taking into account various aspects for the improvement of the association, team management to put up a strong team to compete next season," he said.
He said the association is more interested in highlighting young players to lead the NSFC in the Super League competition next season and is also considering importing players to strengthen the team.
With two Super League games remaining this season, NSFC is currently ranked ninth out of 14 teams with 24 points. — BERNAMA
