Dollah unhappy with Pahang's new signings

ALOR SETAR: Pahang coach Dollah Salleh is disappointed with the performances of his new signings in attack following the 2-0 defeat to Kedah in Tuesday’s Super League match at Darulaman Stadium.

Nigerian Austin Amutu and Canadian Issey Nakajima-Farran, who were signed recently, failed to forge a good understanding with Brazilian Patrick Cruz in attack.

However, credit to Kedah as they were also defensively strong to deny Pahang space in their own half.

“Amutu and Nakajima-Farran along with Cruz failed to make an impact. Things didn’t go too well for us,” said Dollah.

“Our new signings lacked match fitness and this was apparent during the match. They could not play to our game plan.”

Dollah had no options in attack on Tuesday as Gambian forward Mohamadou Sumareh was unavailable due to injury.

“Sumareh would have made a difference as he is excellent in holding the ball and creating chances.

“However, I believe Amutu and Nakajima will improve as the league progresses. They need to work on their fitness and also forge a good understanding with their teammates,” Dollah added.

The coach expects an improved performance from the new signings when his team entertain Kuala Lumpur in Kuantan on Friday
