KL to ring in changes after thrashing

KUANTAN: There will most probably be changes to the Kuala Lumpur squad following the humiliating 0-4 defeat to Pahang at the Darul Makmur Stadium last night (Friday) in Super League action.

Kuala Lumpur coach, Fabio Maciel said that such action had to be made to their squad following inconsistent performances especially away from home.

"However, whether such changes do happen or otherwise, it all depends on the Kuala Lumpur FA’s (KLFA) top management.

"This is because after we convincingly beat Kelantan 5-1 on May 22 (Tuesday), there was no decision to change players, especially our foreign imports.

"Though after tonight’s (Friday) defeat, we must take the best steps possible to ensure that we perform much better after this,” stressed Maciel.

For the record, the Klang Valley team have managed to register positive results when playing at their home of the Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) Stadium in Cheras, however when travelling on the road they fail to sustain the winning momentum.

Speaking on the disappointing loss to The Elephants, the Brazilian coach expressed his frustration after his charges performed brilliantly to thrash Kelantan 5-1 earlier in the week.

However he felt let down by the fact that they could not keep up their winning run and instead endured a heavy defeat.

"Earlier in the match, we had the chance to take the lead but we failed to do so and instead it was Pahang who scored two goals in each half which we could not recover from,” he said.

After 12 matches played, Kuala Lumpur are languished in eighth spot with 13 points.
