FAS to have a new headquarters thanks to Subahan

KUALA LUMPUR: After 82 years, the FA of Selangor (FAS) will finally have a new office they can call home thanks to outgoing president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal.

The 53-year-old, who has worked tirelessly for FAS, will officially step down when the new president is elected in July.

Subahan has also promised to leave on a clean slate by settling salaries of players.

“I met the Selangor players today and I have paid their salaries for April and bonuses (RM10,000) for the FA Cup. The salaries for May will be settled next week.

“FAS have been renting an office in Kelana Jaya all these years. When I was elected president in 2017, I promised that I will source for funds for the team and also look for an office that FAS can call it their home.

“The association will move to their new office, which they will fully own, probably in three months time.

“I am proud to have achieve this in my short tenure. FAS will move to their office the latest by the end of the year,” said Subahan.

On Thursday, Subahan confirmed that he will relinquish his post and that a new FAS president will be elected at the association’s extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on July 3.

Subahan, who has been with Selangor since 2003, said he was contacted by several players who were shocked by his decision to step down.

“Many players contacted me about it. I met them today to explain why I have made this decision and they accepted it,” Subahan added.
