Mifa aim for second upset win against Kedah

Seremban: Mifa are preparing to continue with their winning ways away from home as they take on northern giants Kedah in their Malaysia Cup Group C match at the Darul Aman Stadium this Saturday.

Mifa have every reason to exude confidence as they are expected to field their best first-eleven for the third group match, compared to the previous match against Kelantan.

Coach K. Devan confirmed that striker L’lmam Seydi who did not feature against Kelantan because of a lack of fitness is now ready to lead their forwardline.

“I was very relieved when I found out that L’Imam is fully fit as we really need him to spearhead our attack against Kedah.

“L’Imam’s return to our first-eleven is indeed a welcome boost to add bite to our attack, because Kedah are not an easy team to go up against especially when playing at home.

“We have carried out preparations as best we can, and our team will take to the field at full strength, determined to continue with our winning ways to ensure we are able to maintain our good position in the group,” stressed Devan.

Speaking further on their plans and measures to ensure that they are able to achieve their mission, Devan said that he has devised new tactics so that they can upstage their much fancied opponents who are known to rely on short passes to move the ball around.

“We know that Kedah thrive on short passes to move the ball around up the field and their players have good ball control, which is why their attack can be lethal.

“This is why our players need to be at their best to throw our opponents off their game, but we must be vigilant and avoid making mistakes if we are to emerge victorious,” he said.
