KAFA keep faith with Yusri

KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan FA (KAFA) have confirmed that Yusri Che Lah has already signed a new contract to lead the team for their Malaysia League (M-League) challenge next season.

KAFA president, Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan said that as a result of discussions held on November 12 (Monday), the Perlis born coach has agreed to a one year contract extension till next year.

“As a result of our meeting with Yusri, he has been positive as we have a clear plan and Key Performance Index (KPI) in place in our quest to return to the Super League for the 2020 season.

“KAFA have officially agreed to appoint Yusri to coach the Kelantan squad for next season,” she said when contacted here earlier today (Tuesday).

The confirmation puts an end to all sorts of questions and doubts regarding the former Felcra FC coach’s stand in continuing to lead The Red Warriors squad for next season.

Bibi Ramjani said that KAFA have given a mandate to Yusri to determine which local and foreign players will shoulder the challenge of competing in the Premier League for next season.

For the record, Yusri was given the reigns as the team’s coach after two of the team’s foreign coaches – Sathit Bensoh (Thailand) and Fajr Ibrahim (Syria) were forced to step down last season.

“KAFA have set a target of being among the frontrunners in the league in order to make a swift return to the Super League for the 2020 season,” she said.
