Melaka women looking good

EVEN though they are up against defending champions Kedah at UiTM Shah Alam Stadium tomorrow, Melaka will feel that the Tun Sharifah Rodziah Cup is theirs for the taking.

After all, Melaka had comfortably beaten Kedah 3-0 in the group stage.

Melaka will also want to take revenge as they lost 2-0 to Kedah in the final last year.

Melaka coach Jamil Hassan feels that his team are in fiery form and peaking at the right time.

Melaka’s awesome strength was there for all to see when they pummeled Police 5-1 in the semi-finals.

“We aim to win the final, we have high expectations,” said Jamil.

Jamil hopes his players will have learned much from their group win over Kedah, and use it to their advantage in the rematch.

Kedah coach Zulkifli Jaafar said he has to field an inexperienced team of mostly new faces.

“We’ve had these players for only the past five to six months. To get good team work in such a short time is hard.”
