Hadi vows to let his boots do the talking

NATIONAL Under-22 football striker Hadi Fayyadh Razak has vowed to get his act right when Malaysia takes on Timor Leste in tomorrow’s crucial Group A clash at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The 19-year-old netted in Malaysia’s 1-1 draw against Myanmar but fired blanks in the team’s 1-0 loss to the Philippines on Friday.

These two results have made it difficult for Malaysia to qualify for the semi-finals.

The Young Tigers must now beat Timor Leste and Cambodia (on Wednesday) convincingly and hope for the other results to go their way if they hope to reach the last four.

And Hadi knows the score.

“I’m motivated to make it count tomorrow. In the last game, I missed a few chances, but I believe my moment to shine will come.

“I will work hard and take my chances against Timor Leste,” said Hadi, who has yet to make an appearance for his J2-League side Fagiano Okayama this season.

He also revealed that they were ready to put behind the defeat by the Philippines and get their first win tomorrow.

“Everyone was upset... some could not even eat well after the defeat, but we are now focused on the next game.

“The goals we’ve conceded were from set-pieces and that’s something we are trying to rectify. If we can cut down on our mistakes and capitalise on our chances, I think we can win our remaining matches.

“It is now important for the team not to give up as there is still hope,” he said.
