Davies leaves the Elephants

KUANTAN: With two weeks left before the start of the new M-League season, Pahang have lost right-back Matthew Davies.

A reliable source confirmed the Australian-born’s departure today.

“Davies has left Pahang, and the team are now feeling the heat,” said the source.

“It was done very quickly, and Davies, who joined Pahang in 2015, is no longer with the Super League side.

“He has left a huge void in Pahang’s defence and coach Dollah Salleh now needs to find an able replacement for the right-back position.”

It is understood that Davies will join reigning Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).

However, JDT have not confirmed it yet.

For the record, Pahang have not officially unveiled their squad for the new season, which starts on Feb 28.
