No M-League target for new-look Pahang

KUANTAN: Pahang have decided not to set a target for this year’s M-League following the departure of several regulars.

Coach Dollah Salleh said the Elephants will be depending on several new faces starting with their opening Super League match against Selangor in Kuantan on Saturday.

“I do not want to talk about targets this year. Our goal is to maintain our consistency and do the best for results.

“I am now focused on finding the right combinations in each department. Our local and foreign players also need to work on their understanding,” said Dollah on Tuesday.

Among those who have left the club are Safuwan Baharudin (Selangor), Norshahrul Idlan Talaha (BG Pathum United), Zubir Azmi (Sabah), A Salomon Raj, R. Kogileswaran (PJ City), Wan Zaharulnizam Wan Zakaria (Kelantan), Afif Amiruddin, Remezey Che Ros (UKM FC), Matthew Davies (JDT), Lazarus Kaimbi, Saddil Ramdani, Wafieyuddin Shamsudin.

Pahang’s foreign signings for this year are Dickson Nwakaeme (Nigeria), Ivan Carlos (Brazil), Khalil Khamis (Lebanon), Herold Goulon (France) and Adam Reed (Philippines).

Their new local signings are goalkeeper Sharbinee Allawee, Daniel Wafiuddin, Fazly Mazlan, S. Kumaahran and R. Gopinathan

Dollah, however, needs solutions for their match against Selangor as winger Mohamadou Sumareh and Goulon are nursing injuries.

“Sumareh did not feature in our recent friendly matches while Goulon has not been training for the last 20 days.

“I am also not impressed with our new signing Carlos. He has been uninspiring of late. The forward needs to work hard to regain his touches,” he added.
