Nurri's ready for 'Call of Duty'

AS the Movement Control Order (MCO) enters a new phase today with the army coming in, this has got Melaka United’s attacking midfielder Nurridzuan Abu Hassan all fired up.

Ordered to stay home for two weeks, Nurridzuan, 27, or known as Nurri, will arm himself with the popular modern warfare video game, Call of Duty.

“This feels a bit strange right now, not being able to go out, train on the pitch or play at the stadium.

“It’s super weird, it’s like it’s not my life right now,” he said yesterday.

“All I can do is comply with the MCO, train at home, play video games, and spend time with the family.

“I don’t spend hours on it (video games) though because I have other things to do, like play with my daughter.

“My favourite is Call of Duty but I’m only at the beginner’s level.”

The former Selangor player said Melaka United coach Zainal Abidin Hassan doesn’t keep the players under close watch as he has given them a training programme to follow at home.

“The chief (Zainal) treats us like adults.

“The fitness coach gave us a programme and we train ourselves, no need for video calls at all,” Nurri quipped.

But on another matter, Nurri was not amused by FAM’s decision to dock Melaka United three points on Friday for failing to adhere to payment of salary arrears.

“The points deduction will put pressure on all of us. I can only hope that the team can get as many wins as possible,” he said.

Melaka earlier led the Super League standings with two consecutive wins but they faltered to third place following two consecutive losses.

However, with the points penalty, the Mouse Deer have dropped to 11th place.
