Sarawak United to play home games in the Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak United want to host all their home matches in the Klang Valley due to the worsening Covid-19 situation.

And the club will appeal to the Malaysian Football League (MFL) soon for clearance.

Sarawak is a red zone area, and visiting teams will need to observe the mandatory quarantine period before taking on the Premier League side in Kuching when the M-League starts on March 5.

" We believe visiting teams would not want to come if it is compulsory to undergo quarantine. The state government will not ease restrictions anytime soon as Sarawak is still a red zone area.

"We will decide and submit an appeal to the MFL soon. We will need MFL's assistance to choose a venue in the Klang Valley for our home games," said Sarawak FA (FAS) president Datuk Posa Majais.

"Of course, we will need to look at the schedule first before deciding on this."

Last season, Sarawak United finished 10th in the Premier League with 11 points.
