In football, players, who are not paid for months, will never give their 100 per cent in matches.
Although it has been a long-standing issue in the M-League, the authorities have yet to find an effective formula to eradicate the problem.
It is understood that Perak players have not been paid for the last two months.
However, the authorities are powerless because the players have not filed any complaint yet.
Understandably, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) are unaware of the salary issues at Perak.
Touted as a frontrunner this season, Perak's campaign is fast turning into a nightmare.
They are ninth in the Super League with only five points after six matches.
Perak defeated Sri Pahang and drew with champions Johor Darul Ta'zim but suffered defeats to Terengganu, Penang and Kuala Lumpur.
It is also alleged that key players, also frustrated by coach Mehmet Durakovic's decision to resign just days before the new season, want to move away from the club.
However, MFL CEO Datuk Ab Ghani Hassan claimed that they have yet to receive any complaint on it.
"As of now, we have yet to receive any complaint or report on this issue," said Ghani at the signing ceremony between MFL and new league sponsor Pusat Pakaian Hari-Hari (PPHH) at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya.
"We are now working closely with the teams for next year's club licensing initiative. The deadline is June.
"Of course, teams will have to comply with the requirements to get a club license next season.
The one-year sponsorship with PPHH is worth RM500,000. They will act as co-sponsors of the Super League, Malaysia Cup and Challenge Cup.
