JDT return with a bang in the Super League

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) returned from a two-month break by recording their eight straight win in the Super League on Saturday.

The reigning champions were flawless in their 3-1 success over UiTM FC at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri.

UiTM, however, took the lead through Joel Vinicius in the 42nd minute.

In the second half, Gonzalo Cabrera equalised for JDT in the 50th minute while Safawi Rasid added a second in the 72nd minute.

Bergson da Silva scored his 12th goal of the season in the 88th minute to make it 3-1.

With the win, JDT lead the standings by three points over Terengganu, who are on 30.

In Kuantan, Melaka United drew 1-1 with Pahang FC.

Manuel Hidalgo scored the fastest goal of the season so far by netting after 40 seconds for Pahang.

However, Wan Zaharulnizam Zakaria earned a point for Melaka with a goal in stoppage time.

RESULTS:

SUPER LEAGUE - Sri Pahang FC 1 - Melaka 1, JDT 3 - UiTM FC 1
