Panthers told to end season with a bang

KUALA LUMPUR: Penang caretaker coach Akmal Rizal Rakhli wants his men to end the Super League season with a bang against Terengganu and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT).

Penang will play Terengganu tomorrow and JDT on Dec 16.

The Panthers believe they have the momentum to pounce again after beating Sri Pahang 3-2 last Sunday for their first win since July.

"We have quality players but the morale isn't there. We're trying to merge these qualities," said Akmal.

Penang will fancy their chances against Terengganu who just lost 4-0 to Sabah at home.

Elsewhere, Negri Sembilan beat 10-man Kelantan United 4-0 in Kota Baru on Friday with goals from Herold Goulon (15th minute), Hasbullah Abu Bakar (25th) and R. Barathkumar (42nd, 66th).

Negri coach K. Devan said he was pleased with his team's discipline despite having to make tactical changes on a water-logged pitch.

The match was delayed for 100 minutes from its scheduled 9pm kickoff by heavy rain.
