FAM appoint Saifuddin as new general secretary, replacing Stuart

KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) on Monday announced the appointment of Saifuddin Abu Bakar as their new general secretary, replacing Stuart Ramalingam.

Saifuddin, 60, who served the FAM as the assistant general secretary from 2007-09, will report for duty on Wednesday.

Stuart has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of the Malaysian Football League (MFL).

The Melaka-born, who started his career in football as the FA of Selangor (FAS) technical and youth development officer in 1991 before serving in various units in FAM from 1995 to 2003, is also a Fifa and Asian Football Confederation match commissioner.

He was also the assistant head of Qatar Stars League competition and later served as the technical consultant for Oman FA with the job scope as the competition and licensing manager from 2012-19.

FAM believe Saifuddin will take the national body to a greater level in meeting the aspirations of the various stakeholders.
