Yusri steps down as FAM-NSC coach

After seeing his team ending up last in this season's Premier League, coach Yusri Che Lah (pic) has decided to quit the FAM-NSC Project squad.

Though there is still one year left in his contract with FAM, Yusri doesn't want to continue with the Project boys.

Under him, the FAM-NSC team, comprising national Under-19 players, collected only six points from 20 league games, and winning one match.

FAM announced yesterday that both parties had agreed to terminate the contract.

FAM secretary general Saifuddin Abu Bakar said 10 coaches are keen to do Yusri's job, which is to lead the FAM-NSC squad in the Premier League next year.

"Most of them are experienced coaches and all of them are local," said Saifuddin.

It is learnt that Yusri is likely to head to Ipoh as Perak's new coach.

The Silver state have been relegated, for the first time in the M-League, since 1990.
