Indonesia briefed on how to overcome Tigers

Indonesia coach Shin Tae Yong is happy with how his squad is shaping up ahead of their final AFF Cup Group B match against Malaysia at National Stadium in Singapore tomorrow.

Indonesia lead the group ahead of second-placed Vietnam on goal difference, with both collecting seven points each, while Malaysia are third on six.

The Garuda need only a draw tomorrow to qualify for the semi-finals and deny Harimau Malaya from progressing beyond the group.

"My players are in good condition, except for a few, who are down with injuries. Everyone is focused on Malaysia," said Tae Yong yesterday.

Winger Ricky Kambuaya said Tae Yong has briefed the team about how to overcome Malaysia.

"We have recovered from the draw against Vietnam. Against Malaysia, we will have to work hard for a favourable result.

"They are a good team, and we have to be cautious. Our coach has briefed us about the Malaysian team," said Kambuaya. Defender Elkan Baggot, who plays for Ipswich Town, has completed his Covid-19 quarantine and is available for the match.

Striker Egy Maulana will also arrive in Singapore from his Slovakian club FK Senica.

However, captain Evan Dimas is doubtful after picking up an ankle injury against Vietnam.
