KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah's AFC Cup campaign came to a halt following a 2-1 defeat to 10-man PSM Makassar of Indonesia in the Asean Zone semi-final at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Bali, Indonesia today.
Yakob Sayuri (31st minute) and Yuran Fernandes (54th) scored for Makassar, who dominated the match.
Fernandes was sent off in the 60th minute.
Winger Fayadh Zulkifli scored a consolation for Kedah in the 85th minute.
Meanwhile, the national Under-19 team bounced back to beat Myanmar 2-0 in the Newspaper Cup (also known as the Thanh Nien International Tournament) in their third match at the Binh Duong Stadium in Vietnam.
Nazrin Nasir (fifth minute) and Ahmad Rozaini Abu Bakar (87th) scored for Malaysia.
Hassan Sazali Waras' side completed the round-robin stage with four points and will play hosts Vietnam in the final on Thursday.
