10-man JDT outclass Kedah

KUALA LUMPUR: Despite being a man down, Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) were still too good for Kedah, winning 3-1 in a Super League match at the Darulaman Stadium tonight.

The Canaries took the lead through Ronald Ngah in the 12th minute, but Bergson da Silva equalised for the Southern Tigers in the 36th minute.

However, Bergson was sent off by referee Hamdan Awang in first half added time after punching Kedah defender Rodney Celvin.

Despite being outnumbered, JDT looked more dangerous in the second half. And they took the lead when Leandro Velazquez converted a spotkick in the 60th minute after Syafiq Ahmad was fouled,

JDT put the match beyond Kedah's reach when Afiq Fazail scored in the 79th minute.

The Johor outfit secured the Super League title for the ninth consecutive year last week after beating Negri Sembilan 5-0 while their nearest challengers Sabah dropped points.
