It was as if there was a frog inside the ball, says Teong Kim

KOTA BARU: Perak FC head coach Datuk Lim Teong Kim has blamed the condition of the pitch at Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV here after his side were held to a goalless draw with Kelantan United FC yesterday.

Teong Kim made it clear that he was not happy with the bumpy pitch.

"It is very hard to play football here, because the pitch is uneven. The ball comes to you as if it has a frog inside it, it kept jumping up and down," said Teong Kim.

"It was tough to play the combination football which we are used to. Although we drew, we can still be satisfied as it was not easy to play like this.

"The players could only kick the ball forward and hope that the opponent made a mistake so we could get closer to their goal.

"It is not my intent to insult anyone but the pitch has to be suitable for football."

Meanwhile, Kelantan head coach Tomas Trucha admitted that he expected a better performace from his charges.

He was hoping players such Jose Elmer Porteria, Indra Putra Mahayuddin, Ernist Batyrkaanov and Royizzat Daud would be able to score but they failed to deliver.

"We were in control during the second half but the match still ended 0-0," said Trucha

"I was hoping for the players to attack more and maintain more possession."

Trucha, however, said his players showed improvement since their first two matches against Selangor FC (0-1) and Sabah FC (1-3).

"Our focus after this is to collect maximum points from our matches, not share the points like today (yesterday)," said Trucha.

Both Perak and Kelantan have yet to win a match in the Super League this season. Perak previously lost 4-1 to Kedah Darul Aman FC and drew 0-0 win PDRM FC.
