FAM supports Saudi Arabia's World Cup bid

KUALA LUMPUR: The FA of Malaysia (FAM) will support Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup.

The Middle East nation is currently the sole bidder for the 2034 World Cup hosting job.

The Saudis made known their intention on Wednesday after Morocco, Spain and Portugal won a joint-bid to host the 2030 World Cup.

FAM president Datuk Hamidin Amin said today Saudi Arabia's bid came a year after Qatar successfully hosted the first World Cup in the Middle East.

"The (previous) South Korea, Japan and Qatar World Cups were spectacular. We are confident Saudi Arabia is capable of organising the tournament," said Hamidin.
