Super League: Bos Gaurus not taking Red Warriors lightly

IPOH: Perak FC will not take lightly Kelantan FC's challenge in Super League action at Stadium Perak here tomorrow (October 28) even though their opponents are currently nowhere near their best form.

Bos Gaurus coach, Yusri Che Lah, said he is confident that Kelantan, also known as The Red Warriors, who are currently languished at the bottom of the Super League, will play their hearts out to notch a much needed away win and improve their position.

"I do not consider Kelantan as a struggling team, all their players selected to play (tomorrow) will be formidable opponents to my team," he said when contacted by Bernama here today (October 27).

"They (players) will surely come onto the field with individual motivation, and if there are those among the (Kelantan) players who continue to perform at their best (level), then for sure some of them will be poached by other teams for the next season," he said.

Perak are in 11th place in the league with 19 points after 22 matches, whereas the Red Warriors who have played 21 games, are at the bottom of the table with just eight points.

Yusri said Perak will most likely be unable to field Filipino defender, Jesper Nyholm, former national winger Wan Zack Haikal Wan Noor, and midfielder Muhamad Firdaus Saiyadi as they are on the injured list.

"It is almost certain both Jesper and Firdaus will not be fielded, whereas it is still uncertain if Wan Zack will be able to play. For now, the medical team is monitoring the situation with regards to Wan Zack's injury," he said.

Yusri, a former international during his playing days, expressed hope that the team's supporters will flock to the stadium tomorrow to give his players a morale boost just as they did when Perak faced mighty Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Malaysia Cup semi-final on October 19.

"The presence of our supporters will definitedly raise the players' morale and help to ensure for a win," he added. – Bernama
