Terengganu hit by injuries to defenders

KUALA LUMPUR: Things are certainly not going well for Terengganu ahead of their Malaysia Cup final clash against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) at National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Dec 8.

On Friday, the Turtles produced a pathetic display in front of their fans at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, losing 4-0 to Sabah in a Super League match.

The unstoppable Rhinos scored through Ramon Macedo (sixth minute), Saddil Ramdani (29th), Miguel Cifuentes (40th and Jafri Firdaus Chew (48th).

Terengganu coach Tomislav Steinbruckner had to reshuffle his backline after losing defenders Azam Azmi Murad, Shahrul Nizam Ros Hasni, Alif Zakaria and Safwan Mazlan to injuries.

"I did not have enough available defenders as my regulars are still recovering from injuries. I gave our fringe players game time in this match," said Steinbruckner.

Terengganu will head to Australia tomorrow for an AFC Cup match against Central Coast Mariners.
