MSC apologises for unsatisfactory National Stadium pitch

KUALA LUMPUR: On the eve of the Malaysia Cup football final,

the Malaysian Stadium Corporation (MSC) issued an apology today for the unsatisfactory condition of the National Stadium's pitch.

In a media statement, MSC apologised to the Malaysian Football League, the organiser of the Malaysia Cup, and to football fans, especially from Johor Darul Ta'zim and Terengganu FC, whose teams will contest the final.

MSC admitted they did not have enough time to repair the field to optimal level after the Coldplay concert on Nov 22.

Last Monday, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the sponsor of the new Zeon Zoysia grass at the National Stadium, uploaded the latest picture of the pitch which was seen to be damaged after the Coldplay concert.

The situation upset football fans as the field is not in good condition for the Malaysia Cup final.
