MSC to hold a post-mortem on National Stadium's pitch

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Stadium Corporation (MSC) will conduct a post-mortem to investigate issues regarding the condition of the National Stadium's pitch next week.

The post-mortem will also involve its consultants and contractors. MSC announced this via a brief post on their Facebook page today.

"We are committed to continuously improving (the quality of the pitch) and will provide feedback after the post-mortem."

The National Stadium's pitch has been a hot topic following the circulation of videos and images showing damage caused by Ed Sheeran's concert on Feb 24.

Similar issues occurred last November when the corporation allowed Coldplay to hold a concert on the pitch, resulting in damage.

On Monday, Harimau Malaya and Oman were not permitted to train at the stadium on the eve of their World Cup qualifier.

The pitch condition on match day was subpar, with visible patches in several areas.

As a result, many fans have called for MSC chairman Datuk Hans Isaac to resign.
