KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean tactician Kim Pan Gon has emerged as the most successful Malaysian coach in recent times, with a 70.4 per cent success rate since assuming the role in early 2022.
Based on transfermarkt.com, Harimau Malaya have won 19 matches, drawn two and lost six under Pan Gon.
Following closely in the rankings is Tan Cheng Hoe, the current Selangor coach, who held the national coaching position from 2017 to 2022.
Cheng Hoe recorded a commendable 51.3 per cent success rate, overseeing 37 matches with 19 wins, two draws, and six losses.
Ong Kim Swee, who served two stints as the national coach from 2013-2014 and 2015-2017, takes the third spot on the list.
With a 33.3 per cent success rate, Kim Swee managed seven wins, seven draws, and seven losses from 21 games.
