Yeoh hopes to see Harimau Malaya qualify regularly for Asian Cup

DOHA: Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh hopes Harimau Malaya will become a regular fixture in the Asian Cup.

Yeoh met the national players and watched their game against Bahrain on Saturday before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.

Accompanied by a 'Ekor on Tour' sticker received from fans, Hannah expressed her wish for Harimau Malaya to qualify regularly for the Asian Cup.

"Although Harimau Malaya did not advance to the next round, they had top-level exposure against Jordan and Bahrain," said Yeoh.

"Facing South Korea this week will further help the team gain invaluable experience. Everyone is eager to witness the boys giving their all.

"The Asian Cup is not the end; there is much more to play starting from March, including the World Cup qualifiers.

"Malaysia must continue fighting and make sure their first appearance on merit after 43 years in the Asian Cup is not a one-hit wonder.

"We must make this a regular outing."
