Pan Gon calls up 12 new faces for Oman clash

KUALA LUMPUR: National coach Kim Pan Gon has called up 33 players for the 2026 World Cup-2027 Asian Cup qualifying matches against Oman on March 21 and 26.

The South Korea also included 12 new names, namely Suhaimi Husin, Azam Azmi Murad, Safwan Mazlan, Sharul Nazeem Zulpakar, Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar, Mukhairi Ajmal Mahadi, Nooa Laine, Ahmad Zikri Khalili, V. Ruventhiran, Aliff Izwan Yuslan, Haqimi Azim Rosli and T. Saravanan.

The players will report for centralised training in stages from March 8.

"We understand that clubs are undergoing pre-season training, and at the same time, the Fifa window is between March 18-26.

"However, we still need to prepare early for these two matches against Oman and for that reason we decided to start centralised training on March 8 by also inviting some Under-23 players.

"After discussions with the concerned clubs, some players will only report on March 15. Some players have just joined their clubs after a short break," said Pan Gon.

Pan Gon only retained 21 of the 26 players from his Asian Cup squad for the qualifiers.
