Following his joint 61st finish at the CIMB Classic last weekend, Gavin dissected his game and found that his short game was just not working to his favour.
"I'm switching putter this week, just to change things up a little bit.
"I struggled with the putter last week so hoping for the same long game approach, be a bit more aggressive especially with the par fives this week and hopefully make some putts."
The Taiwan Masters champion admitted his weak form was due to him being too hard on himself as expectations were high.
"My expectations were high. I've played the course so many times which may not be the best thing in the world as you expect more from yourself.
"When it doesn't happen on the course, you get ticked off. I was very hard on myself. I hate losing, I hate not doing well but it's a learning experience for me."
The 23-year-old, who is currently leading Asian Tour's Order of Merit, wants to forget about last week's US$7million (RM29million) tournament and focus on the task at hand.
"This week won't be the same and my expectations won't be as crazy here.
"I don't know this course but hopefully I can put up a good show."
The CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges is Korea's first official PGA Tour event from October 19 to 22 at the Club at Nine Bridges, making up on of eight tournaments in the 2017 portion of the schedule.
