South Korea beat Egypt 4-3 to finish 13th in JWC

KUALA LUMPUR: South Korea came back from a goal down to edge Egypt 4-3 and finish 13th in the Junior World Cup (JWC) at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil today.

Egypt took the lead through Said Kamal off a penalty corner in the 26th minute but the Koreans hit back with three goals in eight minutes through Jiho Choi (28th), Ryu Ho Yun (29th) and Lim Doh Yun (36th).

The Egyptian fought back to level with goals from Ragab Hossameldin (38th) and Bassem Mokhtar (51st).

Doh Yun nailed the winner for Korea off a penalty corner in the 59th minute.

Meanwhile, Sebastian Wolansky scored in the 13th and 57th as Chile outplayed Canada 4-1 to avoid finishing last in the 16-team tournament. Joaquin Munoz (18th) and Felipe Richard (55th) contributed the other goals for Chile.

Robin Thind scored Canada's consolation goal in the 28th.
