Ev Ting outgunned by Folayang in Manila lightweight title bout

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Ev Ting lost to reigning Lightweight World Championship Eduard Folayang at the One: Kings of Destiny event in Manila by way of unanimous decision after five rounds, tonight.

The main event of the night saw Folayang, from the Philippines, successfully defending his belt for the second time after fighting on home soil after two years.

Meanwhile, another Malaysian, Muhammad Aiman Raziz Affindi, 22, lost to hometown youngster Danny Kingad by a unanimous decision after three rounds in a fight with two of Asia's hottest young MMA prospects in the flyweight category.

Aiman attributed his loss to the fact that his opponent, who came into the fight undefeated in four fights, was five-dimensional: "Just when I thought his grappling is where it needs to be but he goes up another dimension, and another, and another."
