'Shadow Cat' aims to put Malaysian MMA back on the map

KUALA LUMPUR: Jihin "Shadow Cat" Radzuan will be the only Malaysian fighter on the script at One Fight Night 20: Todd vs Phetjeeja.

The 25-year-old will fight Japan's Chihiro Sawada at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok on March 9.

Their bout will be among the sideshows in the showdown between reigning divisional queen Janet Todd of America and Thai sensation Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom.

In honour of International Women's Day, One Championship will stack the best women's martial artists from around the globe for the headliner match.

Jihin said she is excited to be back in the ring since her last fight in September, 2023.

"This will be my first fight of the year and also my anniversary fight as my debut at One Championship was also on March 9," she said.

Jihin is looking to continue September's momentum when she won by way of submission over Jenelyn Olsim.

But the Malaysian will face a tough opponent in Sawada who is unbeaten. The Shooto champion subdued Sanaz Fayazmanesh in her debut at One Friday Fights 5 in February last year.

"My aim this year is to put Malaysian MMA back on the map. I am the only female fighter from the nation," said Jihin.
