PM Najib wishes good luck to Hafizh

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is just as excited about Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah's MotoGP race debut at the Qatar Motorcycle Grand Prix tonight as the thousands of motorsports fans in the region.

Najib, who is currently in Australia for the Asean-Australia Special Summit 2018, wished Hafizh, who rides for Monster Yamaha Tech3, the best of luck on Twitter earlier today.

"All the best @Hafizh_pescao55 (Hafizh' twitter handle) who will be competing in the Qatar MotoGP race tonight! I am in Australia but will continue to give my support!," tweeted Najib via his account @NajibRazak.

Hafizh's nickname is Pescao, which means fish in Spanish, due to his outstanding ability in wet weather conditions.

The Ampang-born rider, who spent the last four seasons in Moto2, will start tonight’s race from 15th on the grid after an impressive performance in qualifying on Saturday.
