Adam takes some painkillers and rides on

SEPANG: Riding with a broken left shoulder and a torn ligament in his left knee, Adam Norrodin took some painkillers today.

The Moto3 rider Adam Norrodin managed to get some mixed results in the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sepang Circuit.

The Petronas Sprinta rider came in a respectable fifth in the opening free practice (FP1) after clocking two minutes 25.794 seconds in wet conditions.

Intermittent rain, however, made for a tricky FP2 where Adam settled for 22nd on 2:15.741s.

The 20-year-old said he is yet to be satisfied with his dry setup.

"We made some good improvements in the wet conditions in FP1, I am grateful to have placed fifth,” said Adam.

"I hoped for full dry conditions in FP2 but it was not to be.

“I had some issues with my bike early in FP2 and got boxed. But when I went back out it started raining even before I could complete a full lap, it was a bit disappointing.

"I have a good feeling on the bike in wet conditions so far but we do not know how the weather will be during qualifying and the race, so we have to be prepared.

"I hope FP3 will be dry so we can work out a dry setup for the bike."

Adam added that he will not be taking painkillers in FP3 tomorrow.

"I took painkillers to manage the pain today and honestly felt a bit sleepy, I will skip them for FP3 tomorrow".

Teammate Ayumu Sasaki of Japan was 24th (2:28.781s) in FP1 and 20th (2:15.199s) in FP2.

Honda Team Asia's Nakarin Atiratphuvapat (Thailand) set the early pace in FP1 after clocking 2:25.290s. Spaniard Aron Canet (Estrella Galicia 0,0) was second best on 2:25.442s while Italian Marco Bezzechi (Redox PruestelGP) was third (2:25.512s). In FP2, Italian Tony Arbolino (Marinelli Snipers) topped the timesheet on 2:14.227s.
